2/8 SUPPLY AND DEMAND
Life is continually moving from one side of the spectrum to the other, and within this flow, we are all trying to find our point of stability, number 1. But life never stands still, so we go round and round, looping the loop and chasing our tails in the endless stream of infinity that is symbolized in number 8. We exist in an ocean of need, and no one is immune from its pull. Satisfaction is never permanent and need is ever present. Strange as it may seem, you couldn't ask for a more perfect condition in which to live. Without the longing that ripples from the need to reunite your spirit to the One, you would never strive to discover the way, and you would be lost forever in the perpetual flow of duality.
Yoni kriya meditation
There is no cure for need, for once you get what you want, you'll start needing something else.
Until you learn to obey your soul, you can breathe your way to a more harmonious state of mind where the ego's heavy demands are gently brought into balance.
Sit on a chair, or on the ground with your legs crossed, keeping your spine straight and aligned. Place your hands together as though you were praying, and then point the fingers away from your body, parallel to the ground. Keeping the tips of the little fingers and the thumbs pressed together, separate the palms and the middle three fingers, which should be straight and parallel to each other. Arch the thumbs up and back slightly, and point the little fingers forward so that they form a triangle. Once you have got this mudra, which should be placed in front of the Heart Centre, focus your eyes at the tip of the nose, keep the arms relaxed, and start to breathe in the following way:
Inhale deeply through the nose.
Exhale completely through puckered lips.
Inhale smoothly and deeply through puckered lips.
Exhale completely through the nose.
Continue this cycle for 3 minutes. It can be practiced for longer, but increase the time very gradually; 11 minutes max. Keep the breath steady, and when you have finished, inhale deeply through the nose, press the eyes up and stay totally still for 10 - 30 seconds. Exhale and relax.
