TOUCH THE MAGIC

Personal numbers:  1, 2, 3, 4 relate to the physical level
Connecting number:  5 is the middle, the turning point
Impersonal numbers:  6, 7, 8, 9 express the mental and spiritual realm
Total number:  10 is the whole, the sum of all the parts

The ancient Greeks and many philosophers since that time believed that whatever happens within us unfolds in the universe, and whatever transpires in the universe will be felt and transmuted through us; as above, so below.  The macrocosm is reflected through the microcosm where each human being is a mirror to the vast cosmos.  As finite beings on the physical plane, we reach out to ascend, whereas the Infinite comes down to meet us.  In the same way, the personal and impersonal numbers can be paired together: 1/9, 2/8, 3/7, 4/6, 5/10.

NUMBER 1

Archetypes:  Baby, Magician, Initiator, Servant, Hermit
Key words:  Soul, beginning, impulse, individual, unique, non-negotiable, hidden
Treasure:  Humility

First of all, take a simple object, like a pen or a stone, and place it on the ground where you can begin to get a sense of its inherent qualities.  As you start to tune in, be aware of the words that come to mind.  It stands alone, in solitude, and is fixed in one spot.  You can also use yourself as the focal point, for you are a unique and individual being.  There is only one of you, and that in itself is an expression of number 1.

Number 1 is the source of all beginnings, so think of the first step, the bottom line, and the bones of a new situation.  It is the essence of life; the magic that is hidden within everything.  The first chakra lies at the base of the spine, and is concerned with issues of survival and stability in life.  Survival is the most basic drive from which everything is directed.
